On Historic Cobb Lane, the newly renovated front room houses the "oldest bar" in Birmingham. The J. Clyde offers more craft beer than any other place in Alabama and easily offers the most taps of fresh ales and lagers in Birmingham. The J. Clyde is located on historic Cobb Lane and features metropolitan cocktails, a distinguished wine list and boasts over 200 beers from around the world and the largest covered patio in Birmingham (with heat and air)! The dinner menu is best described as Southern Fare with a European Flare and is vegetarian friendly. After dinner, the kitchen stays open 'til the wee hours of the morning, serving some of the best pub grub you'll find. Casual restaurant, serving "Southern food with a European flair," such as for dinner, fried green tomatoes with Milanese dipping sauce, Southern-stuffed mushrooms, free-range chicken breast with barbecue dipping sauce, vegetable boxty, Belgian pork chops with chipotle chickpeas, steak au poivre with curried corn-red pepper chutney, Bavarian sausages on a bed of sauteed cabbage, Southern grilled shrimp and biscuits, cheese plate. At lunch there's gourmet pizza, burgers, portabella sandwiches with pesto aioli, steak salad, free-range Greek chicken. For brunch, there are brunch pizzas, poached eggs on fried green tomatoes, steak and eggs, made-to order omelets, crepes and more.
